The central government has decided to extend the insurance scheme started for health workers for 180 days from April 19. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given information about this. IANS has given information about this by tweeting.

The government had decided to increase this policy started under the PM Garib Kalyan Package. Let us tell you that once again there is a spurt in the cases of corona in the country, because of which this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the health workers engaged in the care of the patients.

The government has issued a letter in this regard to the secretaries of all the states and union territories. Let us tell you that PMGKP was started on 30 March 2020. Under this scheme, the government had fulfilled the needs of everyone including the poor and needy during the Corona period.

 

Beam cover facility of Rs 50 lakh

 

Let us tell you that under this insurance scheme, the government has so far settled the claims of more than 1900 health workers. The objective of PMGKP is to provide accident cover of Rs 50 lakh to about 22.12 lakh health workers including health workers and private health workers.
