India's star shooter Manu Bhaker has qualified for the final of the women's 25m pistol event. She finished second in the qualification round. She scored 294 in the precision round and 296 in the rapid round. Manu's total score was 590 and she scored 24 Xs. Hungary's Major Veronica was in first place. She scored 294 in the precision round and 298 in the rapid round. Veronica's total score was 592 and she scored 27 Xs i.e. perfect 10. Manu has qualified for the final of her third consecutive event. Earlier, she had reached the final of the women's 10m air pistol event and the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. She won bronze medals in both. Manu has a chance to make a hat-trick of medals. She is also the first Indian to win two medals in an Olympics. Manu will play the final of the 25m pistol event tomorrow i.e. on Saturday. She scored 291 in the precision round, while Isha scored 290 in the rapid round. Manu's final match will be played on Saturday from 1 pm.
India beat Australia in the Olympics after 52 years
The Indian hockey team faced Australia today. Before the quarter-finals, Harmanpreet Singh's team defeated Australia 3-2. With this, India has returned to the winning track before the quarter-finals. In the 26th minute, India got a penalty corner which was saved by Harmanpreet Singh. India was ahead with a 2-1 lead till halftime. In the third quarter, Harmanpreet Singh scored a goal in a penalty stroke in the 32nd minute. With this, India went ahead 3-1. After three quarters, India maintained a 3-1 lead over Australia. In the fourth quarter, Blake Govers scored for Australia in the 55th minute and gave Australia a 3-2 lead. With this, India won and made it to the quarter-finals. The Indian team finished second after Belgium with three wins, one draw, and one loss in the pool stage and will face the third-ranked team of Pool A in the quarter-finals.
The Dheeraj-Ankita pair missed the bronze medal
The mixed doubles archery pair of Dheeraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat faced America in the bronze medal match, but the Indian pair had to face defeat by 2-6. In this way, Dheeraj and Ankita missed the historic bronze medal.

Ankita clocked 16:19.38 in heat one and finished last. Parul, on the other hand, performed her best of the season with a time of 15:10.68 but finished 14th out of 20 runners. The top eight from both heats qualified for the finals.
Lakshya created history by reaching the semi-finals
