New Delhi: Rs 239 crore spent on PM Modi's 31 foreign trips in five years
The Central Government told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that in the last five years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a total of 36 foreign trips, out of which Rs 239.04 crore was spent on 31 foreign trips. CPM raised the issue of pension
Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) MP Elamaram Karim raised the issue of no guidelines being issued by the Central Government and the Employees' Provident Fund Organization so far even after the Supreme Court decides on pension last month. Ken-Betwa river link project approved
Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of eight river-linking projects in the country have been prepared and the Center has given approval to the Ken-Betwa river-linking projects. National Water Development Agency has identified 16 links under Peninsular River Component and 14 links under the Himalayan Component for inter-basin transfer. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said in the Lok Sabha that his ministry had set a target of constructing 12,200 km of National Highways during 2022-23. Out of this, construction of 4,766 km of National Highway has been completed till November this year. In a written reply, he said that apart from the development of highways/expressways in the country, 35 Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) are being developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. These MMLPs will act as major cargo consolidation and distribution hubs. Gadkari said that under the Bharatmala project, 191 congestion points were identified across the network.
More than 11000 cases pending in Supreme Court for 10 years
Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said in the Rajya Sabha that 11049 cases are pending in the Supreme Court for the last 10 years. Similarly, 8.77 lakh civil and 3.74 lakh criminal cases are pending for 10 years in 25 High Courts. Citing data from the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), Rijiju said 6.91 lakh civil and 27.26 lakh criminal cases were pending in district and subordinate courts for the last decade. He said several legislative changes have been made in procedural laws to speed up the trial of court cases, including provisions to limit adjournments of court proceedings in criminal and civil matters.
New Delhi: Bill to promote non-fossil fuels introduced in Rajya Sabha
