The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided to hold the Asia Cup Super-4 and the final match in Colombo as there are signs of improvement in the weather conditions in the Sri Lankan capital. Speculations were rife for the past few days that the Super and Final matches may be shifted from Colombo to Hambantota. It was raining heavily in Colombo. The ACC has decided to hold the match in Colombo only after talking to Sri Lanka, the host Pakistan Cricket Board, and the authorized broadcaster about this.

There was talk of shifting the matches to Hambantota.

Earlier, sources in Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had expressed the possibility of shifting the matches on Tuesday. It was expected that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) would announce it on Tuesday. Heavy rains in Colombo as well as in Kandy (Pallekal) affected the matches. Both India's matches were affected by rain. The India-Pakistan match at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy was abandoned after an innings due to heavy rain on Saturday, while India's match against Nepal on Monday was also affected due to rain.

Will there be a reserve day for the India-Pakistan match?

According to sources, the tournament organizers and broadcasters have suffered huge losses due to rain affecting the matches. The Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota was not included in the original schedule of the Asia Cup. The last ODI there took place in August when Afghanistan hosted Pakistan in the second game of the three-match series. After the cancellation of the India-Pakistan group match, a proposal was also made to keep Sunday as a reserve day for the Super Four match to be held between the two teams. However, no statement from ACC has come out on this.

Binny and Rajeev reached Pakistan

Earlier, BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajeev Shukla had reached Lahore on Monday on a two-day visit. There he met Pakistan Cricket Board President Zaka Ashraf. PCB is the host of this tournament. The tournament is being played on the hybrid model. In this, Pakistan got to host four matches, while nine matches including the final are to be held in Sri Lanka. When Zaka Ashraf was asked about shifting the final matches including the Super Four to Pakistan, he said that it is being considered.

India defeated Nepal on Monday
