Air Pollution: Breathing crisis continues, Delhi-NCR's AQI crosses 400; people are suffocating in toxic air

Air pollution in Delhi has once again reached dangerous levels. According to this morning's report from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded in the severe category in most areas of the capital. Several locations, including Rohini, Mundka, and Bawana, recorded AQIs above 400, which falls in the "severe" category. Experts say this level is extremely harmful to public health and can cause respiratory problems, eye irritation, sore throat, and serious lung damage.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), this morning the AQI was recorded at 416 in Anand Vihar, 412 in Ashok Vihar, 343 in Aya Nagar, 431 in Bawana, 404 in Burari, 417 in DTU, 369 in Dwarka, 381 in ITO, 433 in Jahangirpuri, 434 in Mundka, 353 in Najafgarh, 381 in Punjabi Bagh, 423 in Rohini, 402 in RK Puram, and 442 in Wazirpur.

 

 

A layer of toxic smog enveloped the areas around India Gate and Kartavya Path this morning. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI around the area was recorded at 331, which falls in the 'very poor' category.

 

 

Ghaziabad also recorded an AQI of over 400.

The AQI in Ghaziabad also crossed the 400 mark. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Indirapuram recorded an AQI of 413. Loni recorded an AQI of 470, Sanjay Nagar recorded an AQI of 443, and Vasundhara recorded an AQI of 398.

 

 

Noida's AQI also exceeded 400.

Many areas in Noida also recorded an AQI of over 400. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Sector 125 recorded an AQI of 438, Sector 62 recorded an AQI of 334, Sector 1 recorded an AQI of 399, and Sector 116 recorded an AQI of 430.

 

 

AQI recorded in Gurugram:

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), NISE Gwal Pahari in Gurugram recorded an AQI of 321. Sector 51 recorded an AQI of 354, Teri Gram 228, and Vikas Sadan 270.

 

 

Faridabad AQI

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Sector 30 in Faridabad recorded an AQI of 214, New Industrial Town 296, and Sector 11 214.

AQI readings are classified into good (0-50), satisfactory (51-100), moderately polluted (101-200), poor (201-300), very poor (301-400), and severe (401-500).
