Sam Pitroda's statement created an uproar

A few days ago, Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda spoke in Chicago, America regarding property distribution.

 

The Congress leader said, "There is inheritance tax in America. If someone has a property worth $100 million and when he dies he can transfer only 45 percent to his children."

 

He further said, "55 percent is grabbed by the government. It is an interesting law. It says that you created wealth in your generation and now you are leaving, you should leave your wealth to the public - not the whole, half." I like this fair law."

 

BJP expressed strong objection to this statement of Sam Pitroda. When the statement of the Congress leader gained momentum, the Congress Party and Sam Pitroda themselves clarified on this matter.

At the same time, Union Minister Amit Shah has also targeted Congress while mentioning inheritance tax.
