Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed Bharatiya Janata Party workers on the occasion of the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, one of the founders of the Jana Sangh. During this, PM Modi said that India is on fire with the spirit of nation first today. PM Modi said that when there are so many positive changes happening in the country, India's stature is increasing in the whole world, then who will be an Indian whose chest will not be wide. Today, the activity that is happening in India is due to the pride that the Indian community is living in the world. He said that there was a time when India had to depend on other countries for weapons, but today India has become self-sufficient in this matter.
PM Modi said that during the Indo-Pak war in 1965, India had to depend on foreign countries for weapons. Deendayalji had said at that time that we need to build an India that is not only self-sufficient in agriculture but also defense and weapons. Today, defense corridors are being built in India, weapons are being made in India, and fighter jets like Tej are being built.
PM Modi said that we value consensus in politics. I said in Parliament that a majority runs the government but the country runs with consent. We have not just come to run the government, we have come to take the country forward. We fight against each other in elections does not mean that we do not respect each other.
PM Modi said that today self-reliant Bharat Abhiyan is becoming the medium for building the future of the village-poor, farmers, laborers, and middle class of the country. The major change in the direction of infrastructure will also simplify the life of ordinary human beings, giving the country a new and grand identity. PM Modi further said that how a leader should be in social life, how should live India's democracy and values, Deendayal Ji is also a great example of this. He said that in the coronary period, the country showed the spirit of Antyodaya, and cared for every poor standing on the last rung. With the power of self-reliance, the country has also proved the Integral Human Philosophy, delivered medicines to the whole world, and today is delivering the vaccine.
PM Modi said that how much risk was considered in politics as a task of division of states. There are also examples of this, if a new state was formed then how would the situation become in the country. But when the BJP governments created 3 new states, everyone can see the influence of Deendayal Ji's values in our ways. Uttarakhand was formed from Uttar Pradesh. Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar and Chhattisgarh was shaped differently from Madhya Pradesh, but every state had a festive atmosphere at that time.
Taking a dig at the opposition, PM Modi said that we may have political parties, our views may be different, we fight against each other with full power in elections, but that does not mean that we should not respect our political opponents. Pranab Mukherjee, Tarun Gogoi, SC Jamir None of these politicians have ever been part of our party or coalition. But we must honor his contribution to the nation.
