At the time of the accident, the minor was under the influence of alcohol and was driving his father's Porsche car at a speed of 200 km per hour. In this accident, two engineers from Madhya Pradesh, Anish Awadiya (male) and Ashwini Costa (female) died on the spot. This car was being driven by the minor son of a rich builder from Pune. After the accident, he tried to run away, but people caught him and handed him over to the police. He was later produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, where he was granted bail after a few hours. Police said that on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, the accused teenager had gone to two bars with his friends between 9.30 pm and 1 am and allegedly drank alcohol there.
What conditions did the board set?
"His grandfather has assured that he will keep the boy away from any bad company," the order passed by the Juvenile Justice Board on Sunday said. Also, he will pay attention to his studies. Will make him do some courses which will be useful for his future. The boy's grandfather is ready to comply with the condition imposed on the minor. Therefore, it is right to release the minor on bail.
The board said the minor is released on bail on his bond and a surety bond of Rs 7,500 with the condition that his parents will take care of him and he will never indulge in crimes in the future. The Board was also directed to visit the Regional Transport Office to study the traffic rules and submit a presentation to the Board within 15 days.
Apart from this, they will have to help in traffic control along with the Yerwada division police for 15 days. To give up alcohol, one will have to undergo treatment from a psychiatrist. If he sees any accident in the future, he will have to help the accident victims. As per the court's decision, the accused will have to write an essay of at least 300 words on the consequences of road accidents and their remedies.

Pune Police had approached the sessions court challenging the bail order and sought to allow the boy to be treated like an adult, saying the crime was heinous. However, the court asked the police to approach the Juvenile Justice Board with the petition to review the order.
