Diwali will be celebrated for the first time in the country on January 22 under the Ram Janmabhoomi Pran Pratistha Mahotsav. Earlier, the Ram Mandir Trust had appealed to senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, who were at the forefront of the movement for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, not to come to the consecration ceremony. The temple trust had said that both are elderly and considering their age, they have been requested not to come, which both have accepted.
Ram Mandir Trust General Secretary Champat Rai had said that preparations are in full swing for the consecration ceremony on January 22, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend. Preparations will be completed by January 15 and the puja for Pran Pratishtha will begin from January 16 and will continue till January 22.
