ISRO's versatile sounding rocket RH-200 on Wednesday registered its 200th consecutive successful launch from Thiruvananthapuram's Thumba coast. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) termed it a historic moment. This feat of ISRO was witnessed by former President Ram Nath Kovind and ISRO Chairman S Somnath and others.

Successful flight from Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station

Explain that the successful flight of RH 200 was completed from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station. Indian sounding rockets are used as a privileged instrument for the scientific community to conduct experiments on meteorology, astronomy, and similar branches of space physics, an ISRO statement said.

Why is this mission of ISRO special

It is known that for scientific exploration of the Earth's atmosphere, such as Equatorial Electrojet (EEJ), Leonid Meteor Shower (LMS), Indian Middle Atmosphere Program (IMAP), Monsoon Experiment (MONEX), Middle Atmosphere Dynamics (MIDAS), and Solar Eclipse-2010 The operations are accomplished using sounding rocket platforms. The national space agency headquarters said the Rohini-sounding rocket series has been the forerunner to ISRO's heavier and more complex launch vehicles.

Evidence of Scientists' Commitment

The 200th consecutive successful flight is a testimony to the commitment of Indian rocket scientists towards the unmatched reliability displayed over the years, the statement said.
