Sabarmati Ex. Derail Conspiracy in Kanpur rail accident... this thing was kept on the track; IB will investigate Sabarmati derailment

A major accident was averted in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Train number 19168, Sabarmati Express derailed in the block section between Kanpur and Bhimsen station. The engine hit an object placed on the track and derailed near Kanpur. No injuries have been reported from the spot so far. Relief and restoration work is underway by the administration. Buses reached the spot to ferry the passengers and took them to Kanpur. IB and UP Police have reached the spot and are engaged in an investigation.

 

According to the information, train number 19168, Sabarmati Express derailed near Kanpur at 02:35 am today. The engine hit an object placed on the track and derailed. According to the loco pilot, prima facie it appears that the boulder hit the engine, due to which the cattle guard of the engine was badly damaged/bent. Evidence has been preserved, which was found near the 16th coach from the loco.

 

According to the initial investigation, there is no fracture in the railway track. IB and UP Police are also working on it. There are no injuries to passengers or staff. The train has been arranged for the passengers for further travel to Ahmedabad. Indian Railways has issued emergency helpline numbers.

 

On the other hand, a MEMU rake with eight coaches left the spot at 5:21 pm for the convenience of passengers to Kanpur. Kanpur ADM City Rakesh Verma is present at the spot.

 

Rakesh Verma said that 22 bogies have derailed but no one is injured. All the passengers are being sent to their destination by buses, memo train is also coming. The good thing is that there has been no loss of life of any kind.

 

Railway DRM Jhansi Division Deepak Kumar said that there has been no casualty or injury in this incident. Passengers have been taken back to Kanpur via bus and train. Another train has been prepared in Kanpur to take the passengers to their destination.

 

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted that at 02:35 am today, the engine of Sabarmati Express (Varanasi to Ahmedabad) hit an object on the track and derailed near Kanpur. The cattle guard of the engine was badly damaged/bent. Evidence has been preserved. IB and UP Police are also working on it. There are no injuries to passengers or staff. The train has been arranged for the passengers for the onward journey to Ahmedabad.
