Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede has been transferred as Director-General in the Directorate of Taxpayer Services, Chennai. Sameer was the head of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) when various people, including actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan, were arrested in the drugs case last year. NCB has recently filed a charge sheet in the drugs-on-cruise case in which Aryan Khan has been given a clean chit. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the NCB claimed that there were several lapses in the investigation led by Wankhede.

The 2008 batch IRS officer was transferred to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DII) in Mumbai after his tenure at the NCB ended earlier this year. Officials said that Wankhede may reach his new posting in Chennai on June 10.

NCB gives clean chit to Aryan Khan

Let us tell you that on October 2 last year, Samir Wankhede and several other officials together raided the Cordelia cruise ship (ship) at the Mumbai International Port Terminal. During this cruise party, Aryan Khan was arrested for carrying drugs. In this case, Aryan Khan had to stay in jail for 26 days. Significantly, Aryan Khan's name has been dropped from the charge sheet filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the cruise drugs case on Friday. NCB has given him a clean chit. Six people, including Aryan Khan, have been given a clean chit due to lack of evidence.

Action taken on Sameer Wankhede

After getting a clean chit to Aryan Khan, questions were raised on the working style of NCB. According to sources, the transfer of Sameer Wankhede, for this reason, is being seen as an action.
