Congress will file a review petition in the case of the release of Rajiv Gandhi's killers. The Supreme Court had ordered the release of the six female convicts involved in the murder. Now Congress has made preparations to challenge it. According to sources, a petition challenging the grounds laid down in the order will be filed this week. Earlier, the Central Government also filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against the release of the convicts.

On November 11, the court gave its verdict

On November 11, the Supreme Court ordered the release of six accused serving jail terms in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case after being in jail for 31 years. The court had given this order based on the recommendation of the Tamil Nadu government for the remission of punishment for the criminals. Apart from Nalini Sriharan, RP Ravichandran, Santhan, Murugan, Robert Payas, and Jayakumar were released from jail after the court order. In May this year, the Supreme Court acquitted another convict, AG Perarivalan, citing Article 142.
