Uddhav Thackeray had informed that for the by-election, he had given the choice of three names and three symbols to the Election Commission. The mark included a trident, the rising sun, and a torch. At the same time, the names of the party were given as Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray, Shiv Sena Balasaheb Prabodhankar Thackeray, Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray.
