The incident took place on Sunday morning. As soon as the fire was reported, fire engines immediately reached the spot. A total of 11 fire engines were sent to the spot to control the fire. Fire officer Rakesh Salunke said that firemen were also injured in this rescue operation. It took 17 hours to control the fire.
The deceased include factory owner Haji Usman Hasanbhai Mansuri (80), his grandson Anas Hanif Mansuri (25), grandson's wife Shifa Anas Mansuri (20) and one-and-a-half-year-old great-grandson Yusuf Mansuri. The other four deceased were either employed in the factory or were their relatives. They have been identified as Mehtab Syed Bagwan (45), his wife Ashabanu (38), son Salman (20) and daughter Hina (26).
17 killed in Telangana
