Steps taken to reduce congestion at Delhi Airport, know important things now before traveling

The Civil Aviation Ministry on Monday said several steps, including the opening of two additional entry gates for passengers and deployment of additional CISF personnel, have been taken to decongest the Delhi airport. In the recent past, passengers had to wait for hours due to overcrowding at Indira Gandhi International Airport, but now the situation has become normal.

 

Steps were taken to reduce congestion

Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh told in Rajya Sabha that several steps have been taken to reduce congestion at Delhi airport. He explained about monitoring through CCTV and the command center and other steps being taken for crowd management. He said air travelers are encouraged to use DigiYatra, which is based on facial recognition technology.

 

Arrangement of additional X-ray machines

Minister VK Singh said the opening of two additional entry gates for passengers at Terminal 3 (T3) and additional X-ray machines for baggage screening besides deployment of additional CISF personnel are being arranged.
