Amidst the ongoing tussle over the new Waqf law, Muslim organizations on Tuesday demonstrated their strength at the Talkatora Stadium in Delhi. In the Waqf Bachao Sammelan organized under the banner of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Muslim organizations from across the country made it clear that they would not accept the amendment in the Waqf law under any circumstances. AIMPLB President Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said that the country will not be run by any party's manifesto but by the Constitution.
Rahmani said the new Waqf law hurts the soul of the Constitution. We want to give the message to the government that they should run the country according to the Constitution. If the central government does not back down on Waqf, then a bigger public awareness will be started in the next phase of the movement. At the same time, Mohammad Suleman of the Indian National League said that soon such a revolution would come, which would sweep away the oppressors. This is another battle of the War of Independence. Maulana Arshad Madani and Maulana Mahmood Madani, heads of both factions of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, and leaders of many other Muslim organizations were also present in the event.
The government cannot ignore our unity: Arshad Madani.
After the conference in Delhi, Arshad Madani wrote on social media, the conference proved that no power or government can ignore our unity and solidarity in the matter of protecting Waqf. Protecting Waqf is our religious duty. Muslims can compromise on everything, but cannot tolerate any kind of interference in their Sharia. Therefore, we reject the amended Waqf law.
Waqf is in every Muslim country, BJP MP's claim wrong: Owaisi
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has taken a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Saudi Arabia. Owaisi said that during the visit, the Prime Minister should ask Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman whether Medina is built on Waqf land or not? Owaisi said, on the Waqf Board, a BJP MP had claimed in Parliament that there are no institutions like Waqf in Muslim countries. I completely reject this claim of the BJP MP. Waqf exists in every Muslim country, whether it is a democratic country or a monarchy in that country.
