Terrorists are constantly trying to disturb the peace in Jammu and Kashmir. An encounter took place with terrorists on Monday in the Desa forest area of ​​​​the Doda district of Jammu division. It is being told that four army personnel including a captain and a SOG jawan of the police attained martyrdom in the encounter that continued till late night.

 

According to sources, five security personnel including an army officer were injured during the encounter. The injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment in critical condition. Five brave soldiers died during treatment. Security forces have cordoned off the area. Additional security forces have been sent to the spot. The search operation is going on in the area. Terrorists are being searched.

Officials said that the encounter started when the soldiers of the National Rifles and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint cordon and search operation in Dhari Gote Urarbagi of Desa forest area at around 7.45 pm.

 

The Army's White Knight Corps wrote in a post on Twitter, "Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the Army and Police was underway in the general area north of Doda. Contact was established with the terrorists at around 9 pm, after which heavy firing took place. Additional troops were sent to the area.

 

Will soon avenge the sacrifice of soldiers - Lieutenant Governor

 

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed condolences to the families of the army and police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the Doda encounter. He said that we will avenge the martyrdom of the soldiers.

 

The Lieutenant Governor said, 'I am deeply saddened to know about the cowardly attack on our Army personnel and JKP personnel in Doda district. Tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice while protecting our country. My deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved families.'

 

He said, 'We will avenge the death of our soldiers and foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists and their associates. I call upon the people to unite in the fight against terrorism and provide us with accurate information so that we can intensify anti-terrorism operations and put an end to the terrorist ecosystem.'

 

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed grief over the sacrifice of the soldiers.

 

Dr. Jitendra Singh said, 'I am deeply saddened by the news of the armed encounter in the Desa area of ​​​​District Doda of my Lok Sabha constituency. Words fall short of condole and condemn the martyrdom of our brave soldiers. Let us all together defeat the nefarious intentions of the enemy and maintain peace and harmony for which Doda has always been known.'

 

Three terrorists were killed just 24 hours ago.
