First murder charge at age 15
Dhananjay Singh was born on 16 July 1975 in Kolkata. A few years after the birth, the whole family moved to Jaunpur. Was in 10th in 1990. Govind Uniyal, the teacher of Maharishi Vidya Mandir, was murdered. The name came from Dhananjay Singh. Arrived on the 12th. Another young man was murdered. Dhananjay's name came again. The police caught Dhananjay having to give three exams in police custody.
When university came, Thakurism was established.
Dhananjay Singh reached Lucknow University for further studies. Abhay Singh became my first friend. Politics started with studies here. Dhananjay, Abhay, Bablu Singh, and Dayashankar Singh had no relation but were all united in the name of caste. When the dominance in the university increased, then the interference in contracts started.
Habibullah Hostel came into the limelight due to their arrogance. Someone has been stabbed, kidnapped, or shot somewhere. The name of this hostel would come and search for Dhananjay Singh. The interference of this group in railway contracts increased. They did not take contracts but used to manage bids. The goons used to collect taxes from whatever they got. It was called GT in short form.
12 cases were filed when he left the university
In the year 1997, Gopal Sharan Srivastava, an engineer of the Public Works Department, was going to the office in his Maruti 800 car. Two miscreants who came by bike overtaken and shot from the front. The car hit the boundary on the side of the road. By the time people reached Gopal was dead. Dhananjay was not among these two miscreants, but he was accused of conspiring. Dhananjay fled after the incident. The police announced a reward of 50 thousand. Till now a total of 12 cases had been done on Dhananjay.
Dhananjay killed in police records
On October 17, 1998, someone informed the police that today there is going to be a robbery at a petrol pump on Bhadohi-Mirzapur road. The police became active. Took the front with a weapon. Encountered four people. Said- Dhananjay Singh was killed. In this way, Dhananjay was dead in the police records, but only four months later in February 1999, Dhananjay Singh came forward and proved the truth of the police to be false.
Then who was killed in the encounter?
We got a report from The Indian Express. The one whom the police had told Dhananjay Singh was Omprakash Yadav. Omprakash was a dedicated worker of SP. At that time the SP was in the opposition. Mulayam Singh made a ruckus against the BJP. The Human Rights Commission set up an inquiry. 34 policemen involved in the encounter were suspended. A case was registered against them.
How did Dhananjay get into politics?
A government teacher on the condition of anonymity tells us that at that time there used to be a Bahubali named Vinod Nate in Jaunpur. There was a great influence in the area. The level of Dabangai was such that people used to call Nate the Guru of Munna Bajrangi. Nate wanted to contest the election but died in a road accident during this time. Taking advantage of the martyrdom of Nate, Dhananjay Singh jumped into politics. In 2002, Dhananjay became an independent MLA from Rari Vidhansabha (now Malhani). From here came the role of Robinhood.
Taksal Cinema Shootout
It had been almost 8 months since Dhananjay became an MLA. When the convoy passed through Banaras, the convoy was attacked. Bullets started crackling in front of the Taksal cinema. Dhananjay's men immediately took the front and started firing. In this firing from both sides, 4 people including Dhananjay's gunner, secretary were injured. The attacking side was from Abhay Singh's side. This is the same Abhay who used to be special to Dhananjay during his college days. After this incident, the MLA lodged an FIR. From here their paths diverged.
Dhananjay is the choice of both the police and the public.
In the 2007 election, Dhananjay Singh contested on the ticket of Nishad Party and won. In 2008, he left the party and joined the BSP. Mayawati expressed confidence and made her the Lok Sabha candidate from Jaunpur in 2009. Here too he won. This victory proved to be the last so far. In 2011, Mayawati was sacked for her involvement in activities against the party.
Dhananjay moves in the direction of setting
In the 2012 assembly elections, Dhananjay fielded his then-wife Jagriti Singh as an independent candidate, but Paras Nath Yadav of the SP defeated him by a margin of 31,502 votes. A few days later, Jagriti was arrested by the police in connection with the murder of her maid. Dhananjay Singh was accused of destroying evidence. The matter is in court. Jagriti and Dhananjay got divorced after this case.
In 2014, Dhananjay contested the Lok Sabha elections as an independent. Got only 64 thousand votes. This was 6% of the total votes cast. In 2017, contested from Malhni seat from Nishad Party. Parasnath Yadav was defeated by 21,210 votes. When Parasnath died, a by-election was held in 2020. Parasnath's son Lucky Yadav also defeated Dhananjay. After 2009, Dhananjay could not win even an election.
Government trapped by giving Y category security to Dhananjay
Dhananjay Singh had got Y category security for a long time. Four policemen used to walk together. When a petition was filed against this in the court in 2018, the Yogi government went on the backfoot. A total of 24 serious cases like murder, murder attempts are registered against Dhananjay. Surprisingly, even during this security, 4 cases were registered against him.
A judicial bench of Sunit Kumar and DB Bhosle summoned the then Solicitor General Shashi Prakash Singh. Asked, why should the police be deployed for the protection of a person having a criminal history? When the pressure on the government increased, on the next date 25 May 2018, the government removed the security. The government said that the Jaunpur SSP has been instructed to reject all the bails granted to Dhananjay Singh, but it was not implemented.
One after the other the names started coming in the murders.
Munna Bajrangi was murdered inside the Baghpat jail in July 2018. Munna's wife Seema Singh accused Dhananjay. Ajit Singh alias Langra was shot dead on 5 January 2021 in Gomtinagar, Lucknow. Ajit Singh was once the head of the Gohna block of the Mohammadabad assembly. Mukhtar Ansari was special. Dhananjay Singh's name came in this murder. Dhananjay fled. The police issued a non-bailable warrant declaring a reward of 25 thousand on them.
Was seen roaming freely in the area and playing matches
To say that Dhananjay Singh was absconding. The police were conducting raids to arrest him, but it is hard to believe, as he was seen roaming around the Malhani assembly. On 4 January 2022, he was seen playing cricket among hundreds of people present. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had taunted Baba Ji (CM Yogi) should start the "Mafia BJP League" by making a top ten list of the mafia. While absconding, Dhananjay Singh got his third wife Srikala Reddy to win the election of District Panchayat President.
STF removed the non-bailable section
On 15 February 2022, the STF submitted a report to the court making Dhananjay accused of bailable sections from non-bailable sections. After which Dhananjay did not need to take bail. On February 17, Dhananjay Singh was re-nominated from the Janata Dal-United (JDU) Malhani seat. According to the affidavit submitted during nomination, he has movable assets worth Rs 3.56 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 5.31 crore. The wife has immovable assets worth Rs 780 crore. There is no liability of any kind on the wife.
Dhananjay is now campaigning openly. I want to be honorable again. Despite having a long list of crimes, they are popular among the public. The house is crowded in the morning and evening. Now whether these people end their victory drought or retain it, it will be known on 10 March.
