Heatwave: Government alerted about heat wave after deaths in UP, convened meeting; Know why hot winds are dangerous

After several deaths due to heat waves in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, the central government has been alerted about it. Let us tell you that Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a high-level meeting regarding preparations for the prevention of heat waves across the country. In this meeting, there will be brainstorming on making people aware and preparedness for health services to prevent heat stroke.

 

68 patients died in Ballia in four days

According to media reports, at least 68 patients have died due to a heatwave from June 15 to June 18 at the district hospital in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature in this region of Uttar Pradesh has reached 43 degrees Celsius. However, most of those who died had pre-existing chronic or age-related ailments, and the heatwave exacerbated their problems, leading to the death of patients.

 

Why are heat waves dangerous?

When there is a rise in temperature, humidity, and hot winds i.e. heat stroke also starts blowing, then it is dangerous for health. Health experts say that when people sweat in summer, it evaporates. The release of sweat from the human skin and its evaporation in the air gives some coolness, due to which the temperature of the human body remains normal, but due to an increase in humidity and hot winds, such a dangerous combination is formed that the sweat does not evaporate, due to which the body The temperature does not remain normal. In such a situation, there is a risk of heatstroke. Due to this, along with low blood pressure, the level of oxygen can also decrease.
