The police have arrested the accused Narayan Singh Chaura. According to sources, the attacker Narayan Singh Chaura has been a terrorist of Babbar Khalsa International. Chaura went to Pakistan in 1984 and helped smuggle large consignments of weapons and explosives into Punjab during the initial phase of terrorism. While in Pakistan, he has also allegedly written a book on guerrilla warfare and anti-national literature. He is also an accused in the Burail jailbreak case. Narayan has previously served a sentence in a Punjab jail.

According to the information, Sukhbir Singh Badal was present near the gate of Sri Harmandir Sahib towards the clock tower at around 9:30 am on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a person came and fired a bullet from his pocket which passed by Sukhbir Badal and hit the wall.
Immediately after this, the security personnel surrounded Sukhbir Singh Badal and caught the accused as well. At present, the accused has been handed over to the police and the matter is being investigated. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa was also deployed on the other side of the gate. At the same time, the sound of firing in Darbar Sahib created an atmosphere of panic among the Sangat.
The accused is from Dera Baba Nanak
According to the information, the accused has been identified as Narayan Singh Chaura. The accused is from Dera Baba Nanak and is said to be related to Dal Khalsa. After firing the bullet, the people standing around Sukhbir Badal immediately caught him and raised his hands. The incident took place in front of the main gate. Sukhbir Badal has a fracture in his leg, so he is performing seva by sitting on a chair.
The accused had come to the Golden Temple on Tuesday as well.
According to sources, the accused was seen roaming in Sri Harmandir Sahib on Tuesday as well. On the other hand, after receiving intelligence input, the police were also alert and keeping an eye on him. Akali leaders alleged that the police had been negligent in the security of Sukhbir Badal.
On the other hand, ADCP Harpal Singh said that there were strong security arrangements. Sukhbir Badal was given proper security. The attacker was here yesterday too... today he first bowed to Guru Ji. No one was shot.
