Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has reached the Enforcement Directorate office in Delhi. He was called by the ED for questioning in a case related to online betting apps (betting apps). The ED is now questioning him in the money laundering case related to the alleged illegal betting app. Also, the federal investigation agency will record his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
What is the matter?
The former Indian cricketer is believed to be associated with this app through some advertisements. During interrogation by ED officials, his relationship with this app is expected to be understood. Let us tell you that the agency is investigating many such cases related to illegal betting apps, which are accused of defrauding many people and investors of crores of rupees or evading huge amounts of tax. In this case, the ED has intensified the action, especially on those advertisements that include film stars and cricketers. The ED has also questioned many actors, actresses, and players in this case.
According to media reports, these betting platforms are looting people's money using big names. The QR codes given in the advertisements lead directly to betting sites, which is a violation of Indian law. The investigation has also revealed that these platforms often present themselves as skill-based gaming, but promote illegal betting through fake algorithms.
