In her first post, Swara Bhaskar wrote, 'People are getting angry at the atrocities on Hindus 500 years ago being shown through fictional films. They are not angry at the deaths in the stampede due to poor arrangements in Mahakumbh. The dead bodies there were removed with a bulldozer. This society is dead in mind and soul.' This post was linked to the film 'Chhava', in which Vicky Kaushal played the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Swara's post started creating controversy, she had to face sharp reactions to it. In such a situation, Swara Bhaskar has given her clarification on this matter on Friday. Swara wrote, 'My tweet caused a lot of debate and misunderstanding. Without any doubt, I respect the tradition and contribution of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. My view is that it is okay to glorify our history, but do not use this glorification to hide the mistakes of the present.'

Swara Bhaskar further wrote, 'If anyone is hurt by my first tweet, then I apologize for it. Just like any Indian is proud, I am also proud of my history. Our history will unite us and give us the strength to fight for a better tomorrow.'
