Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached the site of the Air India plane crash, took information from ministers and officials about the tragic accident that took place on Thursday. Civil Aviation Minister Ramnohan Naidu, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi, and Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol were also present with PM Modi. The Prime Minister also visited the hostel on which the plane crashed. Let us tell you that a total of 266 people, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, have died in this horrific accident. Of these, 241 people were traveling in the plane. The rest of the casualties were present at the spot in Meghnaninagar when the plane crashed.

Let us tell you that Air India has set up help centers at Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Gatwick airports to assist the families and loved ones of the passengers on flight number- AI171 and take care of their needs.

 

The Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London took off at 1338 hrs on Thursday. According to Air India, this Boeing 787-8 model aircraft had 242 passengers and crew members on board. The passengers included citizens of Britain, Portugal, and Canada along with 169 Indian citizens.
