Rohit said after the match, 'We just need to make the players clear about their position and style of cricket. They know what to expect when they take the field. As you saw, Kohli tried a big shot as soon as he came. He doesn't usually do this, but he showed intent. Even with Samson, he was out on the first ball but had expressed his intention.

The Indian captain was also asked about his journey from heartbreak in the ODI World Cup to where he stands now. Rohit said the 50-over World Cup is the pinnacle for him, but he is looking forward to lifting the T20 World Cup trophy. He said, 'I don't want to think about it right now. The 50-over World Cup is the biggest prize for me. It is not that I do not see the T20 World Cup and Test Championship as important tournaments. I grew up watching the ODI World Cup and when it happens in India, there is no comparison. We tried our best, but unfortunately, we could not win. The entire team was upset and I'm sure people were also very angry. Now we have a chance to win the T20 World Cup and hopefully, we will win it.
