Following the skirmish in Yangtse between Indian and Chinese troops on the Line of Actual Control in the Tawang sector, the reaction of the monks of the famous Tawang Monastery has also come to the fore. Monks of Tawang Monastery have warned China saying, "This is not 1962, this is 2022" and "This is PM Narendra Modi government".
'Support Indian Army'
Lama Yeshi Khavo, a monk at Tawang Monastery, said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not spare anyone. We support the Modi government and the Indian Army." Expressing the concerns of all those present at the 17th-century monastery, the monk said that in 1962 we have also seen the conflict between the Asian giants. Lama Yeshi Khao also said that the Chinese government always "eyes other countries' territories" which is completely wrong.
'Chinese government is wrong'
Lama Yeshi Khawo said, "They keep an eye on the Indian land as well. The Chinese government is wrong. If they want peace in the world, they should not do this. If they want peace, they should not harm anyone." should not be delivered." He also said that he has full faith in the present Government of India and the Indian Army, which will keep Tawang safe.
Supported India in 1962
Monk Yeshi Khavo of Tawang Monastery said, "During the war in 1962, the monks of this monastery helped the Indian Army. The Chinese Army also entered the monastery, but they did not hurt anyone. First Tawang Tibet was part of and the Chinese government had occupied the land of Tibet." The Chinese government claims that Tawang is also a part of Tibet, but Tawang is an integral part of India. We are not worried because the Indian Army is on the border. We are living here in peace."
The monastery was built in 1681
The monk further said that Tawang Monastery was built in 1681 and is the second largest and oldest monastery in Asia. It was built after the approval of the 5th Dalai Lama. "The Sixth Dalai Lama was born in Tawang. We have the blessings of the 5th and 6th Dalai Lamas. At present, there are about 500 monks in Tawang Monastery. There are 89 small houses in the monastery complex and the Gurukul. Apart from this, along with Buddhist philosophy, general education is also provided here.
