UPSC: Candidates demanding an extra chance to pass UPSC exam detained, protesting in Delhi

Posted on 21st Dec 2022 04:33 pm by rohit kumar

In the early hours of Wednesday, the Delhi Police took into custody the candidates who were demanding an extra chance to clear the UPSC exam. They were demonstrating in the old Rajendra Nagar area of Delhi. They say that due to the Corona epidemic, these unions could not prepare for the Civil Services Examination.

The protesters said that since they could not prepare for the exam due to COVID-19 and the lockdown, the opportunity was lost. A protesting girl student named Garima said that SSC Grade (GD) and Agniveer candidates have been given extra chances, so they should also be given.

If SSC and Agniveers were given a chance then why not us?

Garima says if the government can allow extra attempts for SSC (GD) and Agniveer candidates, why can't it make the same provision for us? We are protesting peacefully.

Our dreams also burnt to ashes in Corona

Another protester demanded two additional attempts and a relaxation of two years in the age limit. He said we want two years of relaxation and two more attempts. Has Covid not affected UPSC aspirants? If the government can try to promote MSMEs and waive off loans, why can't it give us some relaxation? During Kovid, not only dead bodies but our dreams were also burnt to ashes.

However, there has been no statement from the government regarding the demand of the protesters. This matter may be raised in Parliament.
