Team India: Asia Cup solved the problems of the World Cup, Rahul-Ishan solved the middle-order crisis

The Indian team kept going through a phase of experiments till just before the 2019 ODI World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup, but this is not the case this time. The victory of the Asia Cup has solved the problems of Team India before the ODI World Cup starting on October 5. The team's middle-order problem, which was the center of discussion before the Asia Cup, has been solved by KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan with their performance. At the same time, the return of Jasprit Bumrah, the lethal bowling of Mohammad Siraj, and Hardik Pandya, and the spin of Kuldeep Yadav have provided additional strength to the team in bowling.

Rahul put an end to every doubt

Before the Asia Cup, there was maximum doubt about KL Rahul. He was also not on the team for the first two matches of the tournament due to his recovery from injury. It was not clear whether he would be successful in his comeback or not, but his unbeaten inning of 111 runs against Pakistan put an end to all these speculations. It is a matter of relief that Rahul also kept wicket in all the matches. His wicketkeeping was also excellent. He also took diving catches on the fast bowlers and did excellent wicket-keeping on the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav.

Told about the double role earlier

The team management had already made up its mind to give Rahul a double role. Rahul also says that the team management had already informed him about his role. This was the reason that during his rehabilitation at NCA, he kept trying his hand at batting as well as wicket-keeping by talking to the coaches. This was the reason why he was confident that he would be able to do justice to his role whenever he played.

Ishaan gave balance in the middle order

The team management had also expected Shreyas Iyer to make a comeback like Rahul, but he got injured again after playing the first match against Pakistan. However, his fitness is still being assessed. Despite this, the team management will not be too worried about him, because Ishan Kishan has taken advantage of the responsibility given to him in the middle order with both hands. He formed a brilliant partnership with Hardik Pandya in the first match against Pakistan. He scored 82 runs here and showed that he is fully prepared for this role. Being a left-handed batsman, Ishaan is giving good balance to the team in the middle order.

Kuldeep again became the match-winner

The only cause of concern for the Indian team has been their performance against spin bowling. Against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Indian batsmen could not face the spin bowlers properly and fell apart. Even during the World Cup, the team may get pitches that suit spin bowlers. However, Kuldeep Yadav's performance in spin bowling has given great relief to the team management. He led India to victory by taking five wickets against Pakistan and four wickets against Sri Lanka. He also became Man of the Series. Captain Rohit said about Kuldeep that when we brought him he was under pressure, but he performed well which boosted his morale. At present, he is in such a mood that in any situation during the match, he can bring the team back.

Rohit has every option in bowling

Rohit Sharma is very happy with the performance of the bowlers. After winning the Asia Cup, Rohit said that what more does a captain need when he has bowlers who bowl fast, swing, and bouncy balls? This was the first time in a year that Bumrah, Siraj, and Hardik came together in the match and bowled brilliantly. Due to the bowling of these three, a bowler like Mohammed Shami remained sitting on the bench, but it is a pleasant situation for Rohit that he has the option of a bowler like Shami. Siraj also cleared the way to be Bumrah's partner for the World Cup by taking six wickets for 21 runs in the final.
