The total number of corona viruses infected in Russia has crossed 8 million. Also, the number of daily cases reported in the country is not less. Russia is the country in the world that gave the first corona vaccine to the world.

According to the AP news agency, Russia's National Corona Virus Task Force reported on Monday that 34,325 new patients of Covid-19 were detected on the previous day. With this, the total number of infected reached 8,027,012. The task force informed that 998 patients of Covid-19 died in the country on the previous day, taking the death toll to 2,24,310.

The last day's death toll is less than Saturday's figure, but it shows that the country is constantly battling the virus infection as the vaccination rate is very low. Russian officials have tried to speed up vaccinations with lotteries, bonuses, and other incentive concessions, but these efforts have been hit hard by widespread skepticism about vaccines and conflicting officials' signals.

The task force said on Monday that out of the country's population of about 14.6 crores, about 4.5 crores, or 32 percent, have been fully immunized. Even after the death of such a large number of Covid-19 patients, the Kremlin has refused to re-impose the national lockdown as it was imposed in the initial phase. However, it has empowered regional administrations to impose coronavirus restrictions.
