Noida's Supertech Twin Tower is now history. Both towers were demolished at exactly 2.30 pm on Sunday. The 100-meter-high tower was grounded in just 12 seconds. We are telling you about the four elders who fought a legal battle for ten years against the Supertech company that built the twin towers first in the High Court and then in the Supreme Court. They were lured, and an attempt was made to stop them by making threats, but in front of the encouragement of these elders, one of the builders did not work.
Udaybhan Teotia, president of Emerald Court Residents Welfare Association, is a retired officer from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Udaybhan is the key figure in this fight against Supertech. SK Sharma, Ravi Bajaj, and MK Jain went to Allahabad High Court. MK Jain passed away during the corona epidemic. The remaining three senior citizens are still alive.
Knocked on the door of the High Court in December 2012
Uday Bhan Singh Teotia along with SK Sharma, Ravi Bajaj, and MK Jain approached the court for the first time in December 2012. At the place where the twin tower was being built, the builder had sold the flats by telling it for the park but erected the twin towers there. The victory came after 10 years of fighting.

Uday Bhan Singh Teotia
Uday Bhan Singh Teotia is 79 years old and currently lives in Sector 93-A, Noida. He led the whole fight. Presently, Emerald is the President of the Court Residents Association. Uday Bhan Singh Tewatia says, "Initially the builder did not even give the building plan. Before going to the court, he wrote a letter to all the authorities, including the then housing minister Azam Khan. In 2012, this case started in court. The fight was between the residents. It was right. The builder had taken over the parkland on which these towers were standing."
He said, "For 10 years this fight went from High Court to Supreme Court. Ultimately the truth won and the corrupt lost. Surely the benefits of this demolition will be visible after three months. These towers were erected by taking money.
Tevatia explains- 'It was not easy to fight against such a big builder. When our case reached the High Court and the builder started seeing difficulties, we were under pressure to withdraw the case. Some people even said that builders are big people. Everyone is within his grasp. You will not be able to do anything for them, so take your seat and sit down. Otherwise, the result could be bad. Still, we did not lose heart in the strength of the residents. At every level we got challenges and we went on overcoming them. We were able to win only based on struggle.
SK Sharma
SK Sharma is now 74 years old and working in Residents Welfare Association (RWA) along with Uday Bhan Singh Tewatia. SK Sharma and Uday Bhan Singh were the first to voice. SK Sharma also lives in Sector 93-A of Noida. Retired as Deputy DG from Telecom Department. SK Sharma says, “The green area has vanished and the promises have not been fulfilled.”
MK Jain
MK Jain, 59, was the youngest among those who fought against Supertech. Died last year due to Corona. He also lived in Sector 93-A of Noida. He had a factory to make electric parts in Noida. MK Jain was part of the legal committee of the housing society residents. Being an MTech pass-out, he had good technical knowledge.
Ravi Bajaj
Ravi Bajaj, 65, is the third person to fight with Supertech. Retired from Income Tax Department. Ravi Bajaj was also a member of RWA earlier but is no more. He resigned from the job in 2021 due to personal reasons.
Ravi Bajaj says, “While booking the flat, we were made four promises in the brochure including Kids Water Park, Greenery, but got nothing. We could not even do many household chores because of the court battle against it. Miss Jain a lot. He was the one with the most energy and it was because of him that this fight started.
Residents reached the end by fighting the case with donation of money
A legal committee was formed in the society to fight the legal battle against the builder. There were about 40 people on the committee. He fought the legal battle of this case by collecting donations from society and brought the case to the end. First 500 rupees, then 3–3 thousand rupees and lastly 17–17 thousand rupees were raised.
