The Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad (World Hindu Protection Council) has become quite vocal regarding the persecution and killings of Hindus in Bangladesh. In Lucknow on Wednesday, the Hindu Raksha Parishad burned an effigy of Bangladeshi President Mohammed Shahabuddin and announced the formation of the Bangladesh Hindu Mukti Vahini (Bangladesh Hindu Liberation Force).
In Lucknow, Gopal Rai, the international president of the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad, expressed deep concern over the violent incidents against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. He stated that despite the massacre of Hindus in Bangladesh, most countries of the world are merely issuing statements and appear inactive in taking effective action. Against this backdrop, the Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad has announced the formation of the Bangladesh Hindu Mukti Vahini.
Gopal Rai said that this organization will fight against the increasing violence, fear, and insecurity faced by Hindus in Bangladesh and will raise this issue forcefully at the international level.
Referring to the historical context of 1971, he said that at that time, with the cooperation of India, the Bangladesh Liberation Force was formed, which played a significant role in the country's independence. Based on that historical memory, this new initiative is being launched with the support of the Council for the Protection and Liberation of Hindus.
Rai demanded that the Indian government grant the necessary permission to the Bangladesh Hindu Mukti Vahini to protect the safety and rights of Hindus residing in Bangladesh, so that it can fulfill its stated objectives.
He also said that the killings of many Hindus, including Deepu Das, will not go in vain, and the council will continue its efforts to ensure justice and security. Rai urged the Indian government to immediately stop all economic assistance to Bangladesh and also demanded that other countries of the world impose immediate economic sanctions on Bangladesh.
