The statement read: "Our former CEO, Tsutomu Shibayama, passed away on March 6th. The contributions of Shibayama—who entertained audiences immensely for over 20 years through the TV animation Doraemon—can never be forgotten. It is with deep respect for him that we are compelled to convey this sorrowful news to you all."
It is reported that Tsutomu Shibayama had been battling lung cancer for quite some time. Despite undergoing continuous treatment, no improvement was observed in his condition, and he breathed his last at the age of 84. Looking back at Tsutomu Shibayama's filmmaking career, he began his journey in 1963 with Toei Animation. Subsequently, from 1984 to 2005, he directed the *Doraemon* cartoon series, winning the hearts of audiences everywhere.
