A young woman died in police custody in Iran. The police had arrested her for not wearing a hijab. Iran's radical government has made it mandatory for women to wear the hijab. Here the women who are not following this order are being tortured after their arrest.
The latest case is on September 13. Mahsa Amini, 22, had come to Tehran to visit her family. She was not wearing a hijab. The police immediately arrested Mahsa. He died 3 days after his arrest, that is, on 16 September. After this, the matter came into the limelight.
Death due to head injury
According to Iranian media reports, Amini went into a coma just hours after her arrest. He was taken to the hospital. The family says that Mahsa did not have any disease. His health was absolutely fine. However, his death is said to be suspicious. Reports said that what happened between Mehsa's arrival at the police station and going to the hospital is not yet clear. The channel, which monitors human rights violence in Iran, said that Amini died of a head injury.
seeking justice
Amnesty International, an organization fighting for human rights, said – there have been allegations of torture by the police. There should be an inquiry into the death of 22-year-old Mehsa in police custody. The police arrested him for forcibly enforcing the hijab law. Kept in custody for 3 days. Later he died.
US envoy to Iran Robert Malle said - Mahsa was injured in custody which led to his death. The officers responsible for his death should be punished. Iran must stop atrocities against women.
Iranian lawyer Saeed Dehgan called Amini's death a murder. He said- He got hit on the head due to which his head got fractured. She went into a coma and died.
Police deny allegations
After the death of Mahsa Amini, there are demonstrations against the police in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Here, the police say that the police did not assault Mehsa. Several girls were arrested on 13 September. One of them was Amini. She fainted as soon as she was taken to the police station. At the same time, President Ibrahim Raisi has ordered the Home Minister to investigate the matter.
Sepdeh Roshno, 28, refused to wear the hijab. After this the police arrested him. Extremely tortured. Later, he was asked to come on national TV and apologize to create panic in the minds of women who did not obey the Taliban order to wear the hijab.
Iran is one of the countries where wearing an Islamic hijab is mandatory for women. Iranian women on Tuesday launched an anti-hijab campaign across the country and posted a video on social media without hijab. By doing this, the women broke the strict hijab rules of the Islamic Republic of Iran. For this, the No2Hijab hashtag was also run on social media.
