Trudeau on backfoot over Nijjar's murder: Said- there is no solid evidence against India; India said- Canadian PM is responsible for spoiling relations

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has admitted that when he accused Indian agents of being involved in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar last year, he only had intelligence information. There was no concrete evidence.

 

The Trudeau government has earlier claimed that it had given evidence related to the Nijjar murder case to India. At the same time, India has been saying that Canada did not give any evidence related to this murder. After Trudeau's statement, the Indian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday (17 October) that the Canadian PM is responsible for the deterioration of relations between the two countries.

 

Meanwhile, an investigation committee was formed regarding foreign interference in Canadian politics. Trudeau appeared in it on Wednesday. In this, he said - I had received intelligence information from the Five Eyes countries, which made it clear that India was involved in the murder of its citizen on Canadian soil.

 

Trudeau told the investigation committee that India did not help in the investigation.

 

Trudeau told the investigation committee that he hoped that India would deal with the matter responsibly so that relations between the two countries do not deteriorate, but the Indian officials did not help us in the investigation.

 

Trudeau said that there are clear indications that India has targeted Sikhs in Canada and violated our sovereignty. Trudeau termed India's action as a 'big mistake'.

 

Foreign Ministry said - Trudeau proved our argument right.

 

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that we have been saying this continuously. Canada did not provide any evidence to prove the allegations made by it against India and Indian diplomats. Trudeau is solely responsible for the damage caused to India-Canada relations due to this careless attitude.

Five Eyes is an alliance of five countries, which share intelligence inputs with each other. It includes America, Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

 

Terrorist Pannu said - Gave anti-India information to Canada.

Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu said in an interview with Canadian news channel CBC News on Wednesday that he has given information to Canada against India. His terrorist organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ) has been in contact with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau for the last 2 to 3 years. He has informed Trudeau about the intelligence network of the Indian High Commission.

Pannu currently lives in the US and runs an organization called Sikh for Justice. He has citizenship in both the US and Canada.

Developments between India and Canada in the last 5 days

13 October: Canada sent a letter to India. It said that Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma and other diplomats are suspects in the case. Canada did not give information about the case, but it was linked to the Nijjar case.

14 October: India protested against its diplomats being called suspects and summoned the Canadian ambassador. A few hours later, India called back Sanjay Kumar Verma and other diplomats. Late at night, news came that Canada had also ordered the return of its 6 ambassadors from India.

 

October 15: Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau accused Indian agents of direct involvement in the murder of Nijjar.

 

October 16: Trudeau admitted that when he accused Indian agents of involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar last year, he had only intelligence information. There was no concrete evidence.

 

October 17: India said that whatever Trudeau has said proves India right. Trudeau is responsible for the damage caused to India-Canada relations due to his careless behavior.
