US President Joe Biden arrives in Poland to meet NATO allies after Ukraine visit

US President Joe Biden visited Ukraine on 20 February. Here he met the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. Biden announced additional military aid to Ukraine during his visit to Kyiv.

 

After a sudden visit to Kyiv, Biden reached Poland's capital Warsaw late on Monday night. Here he will tell US allies that the US stands fully with Ukraine on the anniversary of Russia's invasion. At the same time, he will emphasize US support for the eastern part of NATO.

 

Will meet the President of Poland

Biden will meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda to discuss collective efforts to support Ukraine. He would thank Poland for helping the United States and other countries by providing military and humanitarian aid.

 

After this, Biden will give a speech in the evening. In it, he explains how America has helped the world support Ukraine. Indeed, the Russia-Ukraine war is entering its second year with no end in sight in sight.

 

Biden will meet the leaders of the Bucharest Nine

White House national security spokesman John Kirby said, "President Biden will make clear that the United States will stand with Ukraine, as you've heard him say many times."

 

Biden will meet with leaders of the Bucharest Nine, the eastern bloc of NATO allies, before leaving Warsaw for Washington on February 22. During this, he will reaffirm unwavering support for their safety.

 

America will give new help of 460 million dollars

On February 20, while Biden was in Kyiv, the US State Department announced $460 million in US aid to Ukraine. Of this, artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air defense radar worth $450 million will be given. In addition, $10 million will be given for energy infrastructure.

 

24 billion dollars have been given so far

Since the beginning of the war, the United States has sent more than $24 billion in security aid to help Ukraine. This war has become a hideous struggle. US officials say it could go on for months or years.

 

America will ban companies helping Russia

Biden has not yet agreed to send fighter jets to Ukraine at Zelensky's request. A White House spokesman said later this week the United States would announce additional sanctions against individuals and companies "trying to evade sanctions and help Russia backstage in the war."
