Amritpal Singh is absconding since March 18

Please tell, Amritpal Singh is absconding since March 18 last month. Now he has called Sarbat Khalsa meeting of Sikhs, after which Punjab Police has been alerted. Amritpal Singh has been seen in several pictures and videos taking several vehicles to dodge the police. He managed to escape after dodging the police when the convoy was stopped in Jalandhar district. The National Security Act (Rasuka) has been invoked against Amritpal and some of his associates.

Akal Takht Sahib rejects demand for convening Sarbat Khalsa

Let me tell you, on Thursday, Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh has rejected the demand of separatist fugitive Amritpal Singh to call Sarbat Khalsa on Baisakhi. He made it clear that calling Sarbat Khalsa for any particular person cannot be considered. The Jathedar said that Sarbat Khalsa can be called only in the event of a crisis looming over the Sikh community. Such a big decision can be taken only after seriously considering the deep religious issues of the community.

Akal Takht announces religious programs

Sri Akal Takht Sahib has announced religious programs on the occasion of Gurmat Samagam to be held at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Bathinda) on the occasion of Khalsa Panth Foundation Day (Vaisakhi). From April 12 to 15, Gurmat Samagam will be held on this Takht. It is also clear that Sarbat Khalsa will not be called. Had the idea of organizing the Sarbat Khalsa come from the Singh Sahibans, the details of the gatherings would not have been announced by Shri Akal Takht Sahib.
