On May 26, Jitendra Saini and Uwais Khan, residents of Bijnor, tried to abduct a minor girl in Purola. Those who were caught by the local people and traders. After this resentment against the Muslim traders in Purola increased among the local traders and the local people and a period of demonstrations started.
Demonstrations were held in Purola, Barkot, and Bhatwadi regarding the matter. The protesters passed threatening posters on the shops of Muslim traders and threatened them to vacate the shops. It was written that the shops should be vacated before the Mahapanchayat to be held on June 15.
Since then, not even a single shop of Muslim traders has been opened in Purola. More than 30 shops in Purola are closed for the last 18 days. While 14 traders have vacated the shops.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is serious about abducting a minor girl student in Purola and spoiling the cordial atmosphere in the district. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is completely strict regarding Love Jihad and Land Jihad. This kind of antics will not be allowed to happen in Devbhoomi. Now a maha panchayat has been called on June 15, to which many organizations have given their support. Because of this, the police administration has come in alert mode. At the same time, All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi also jumped into the matter. He has demanded that this maha panchayat should be banned immediately.
Now the Muslim businessmen in Purola who have their own houses are also preparing to go to their relatives' homes in Dehradun and other places for a few days because of the Mahapanchayat on the 15th of June.
No result could be found in the meeting
On Monday, District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela and Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi went to Purola to calm the tension. Where there was a meeting of traders and workers of Hindu organizations till late at night to appeal to restore peace. However, no result could be found in the meeting.
