The catering contractor of the CSMT-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express has been fined Rs 25,000 by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) after receiving several complaints regarding the quality of food served on the train.

The fine has been imposed in the wake of a recent incident in which human nails were found in the food served by the Railways to a passenger. After this, he recorded its video and shared it on social media, which went viral.

In response to the increasing number of complaints, IRCTC initiated an investigation into the matter and implemented special protocols to provide satisfactory food service to passengers. As part of IRCTC's efforts, an officer has been appointed to supervise the onboard food service on Vande Bharat Express. In addition, a thorough inspection was carried out of the base kitchen at Ratnagiri, which is responsible for catering on the train.

The incident is on 27th June

On June 27, passengers traveling in the CSMT-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express faced issues regarding the quality of pulses. Another passenger also reported finding human nails in their food. Passengers are voicing their dissatisfaction with the railway catering service and sharing their experiences through comments on viral videos and social media posts.

The fine imposed on the catering contractor is seen as a step towards holding them accountable for the quality of food provided to passengers.
