The air quality situation in Delhi remains serious even today. According to CPCB, AQI of many areas has been recorded beyond 400. AQI of RK Puram has been recorded at 453, Punjabi Bagh at 444, ITO at 441, and Anand Vihar at 432.

Given the serious situation of pollution, the Delhi government has declared the winter vacation in schools in November itself. All schools have been ordered to remain closed from 9 to 18 November. Additionally, app-based taxis registered in other states have also been banned from entering Delhi. At the same time, the odd-even scheme announced between November 13 and 20 has also been postponed.

According to the Meteorological Department, the air will remain poisonous in major cities of NCR including Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. There is no quick relief from adverse circumstances. Even stubble burning is not being stopped in Punjab and neighboring states.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said a decision will be taken after the hearing on Friday in the top court on the effects of the odd-even formula. The circular of the Directorate of Education states that the winter vacation has been postponed so that the schools are completely closed and both children and teachers can stay at home.

preparation of artificial rain

Gopal Rai said artificial rain will also be used to control pollution. Scientists of IIT Kanpur have told in the meeting with him that artificial rain is possible only when there is cloud or moisture in the atmosphere. Experts estimate that such a situation may arise around November 20-21. The scientists' proposal will be presented to the Supreme Court.

what is artificial rain?

Cloud seeds are made scientifically in the lab. Many chemicals including dry ice, salt, and silver iodide are mixed and spread in the sky by aircraft. This creates an environment of rain.
