Weather Update: Apart from Delhi-NCR, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of the country, and snowfall in the mountains; Know in which states there is an alert

India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest weather forecast said that there may be heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Kerala on November 10. Only after Friday, there may be some relief from heavy rain in the areas of southern states.

 

On the other hand, due to Western Disturbance today (Friday) there is a possibility of scattered light/moderate rain or snowfall in the Western Himalayan region along with scattered light rain in the adjacent plains.

 

According to the IMD, very heavy rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal in the last 24 hours, which has been classified as heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places. Additionally, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred over Kerala, while isolated heavy rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema and Interior Karnataka.

 

Heavy rain occurred in many parts of Delhi-NCR

Today, there was heavy rain in some parts of Delhi-NCR in the morning, which brought relief from air pollution in Delhi-NCR to a great extent. With this, the AQI level in many areas of Delhi has fallen from 400 to 100. According to the Meteorological Department, it rained in Delhi's Bawana, Kanjhawala, Mundaka, Jafarpur, Najafgarh Dwarka, Rohini, Janakpuri, Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Kirti Nagar, Jhandewalan, Connaught Place, Janpath, Akshardham, Mayur Vihar, Noida and Greater Noida. .

 

IMD said that it rained in some areas of NCR including Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, and Manesar. Along with this, light to heavy rain may also occur in the areas around Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Mattanhel, Jhajjar, Farrukhnagar, and Kosli of Haryana. This is likely to provide relief from pollution in these areas also.

 

Rain warning across India

There is a possibility of light to moderate, scattered to heavy rains over South Peninsular India. There is a possibility of light to moderate, isolated to heavy rain at isolated places over Konkan Goa and Central Maharashtra in the next 2 days. However, there may be relief from heavy rain later. At the same time, on November 10, there is a possibility of heavy rain in different places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

 

Light to moderate rain/snow is likely over Uttarakhand on November 10, while isolated to heavy rain/snow is expected over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on November 10. Apart from this, scattered light rain may occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi-NCR on November 10. According to IMD, there is a possibility of light/moderate or scattered to very heavy rainfall over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 7 days.

 

Effect of Pachhua in Bihar; The Temperature of 19 cities including Patna fell

Due to the effect of Pachhua in Bihar, the minimum temperature of 19 cities including the capital Patna has fallen. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of a partial increase in cold due to a gradual drop of one to two degrees in the minimum temperature during the next two to three days.

 

During the last 24 hours, the weather of the state remained generally dry. Light-grade fog prevailed in the Purnia district. Kishanganj was the coldest city in the state with 14.5 degrees Celsius. The capital's maximum temperature was recorded at 17.9 degrees Celsius, a drop of 0.8 degrees Celsius. At the same time, a decline was recorded in the maximum temperature of 15 cities including Patna.

 

The weather worsened due to snowfall in Himachal

Light snowfall on the high peaks of Himachal Pradesh and cloud cover in other areas of the state since afternoon has increased the coolness. Due to this, the temperature has dropped rapidly. According to the latest forecast released by the Meteorological Department, due to the impact of the western disturbance, a yellow alert has been issued regarding thunderstorms and lightning in all the districts of the state except Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti.

 

Cold weather starts in Odisha, mercury is slowly falling

The temperature is gradually falling in Odisha and the effect of cold has started increasing. Due to the active pressure area in the central part of the country, dry-cold winds are blowing from the northwest and north of the state. Due to this, a drop in temperature has been recorded in some places. According to information received from the local meteorological department, the temperature has dropped by 1-2 degrees Celsius in many places.

 

It is likely to drop further by 2-3 degrees in the next two days. Dense fog is also being seen in some places. The weather will remain dry in the state for the next week. According to an assessment of the Meteorological Department, the cold may increase further after November 14.

 

Heavy snowfall begins in upper areas of Jammu and Kashmir

There is a possibility of snowfall in the high hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir and rain in the lower areas on Friday and Saturday also. The temperature has dropped due to rain in the plains of Poonch district and snowfall in the mountains. The severity of winter has increased in the area.

 

It was cloudy in Jammu on Thursday. During this period, the day temperature in Jammu was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius while the night temperature was recorded at 14.3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Srinagar was recorded at 17.6 and the minimum temperature was 2.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Leh was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was minus 2.8 degrees Celsius. According to the local meteorological department, there is a possibility of snowfall in the high hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir and rain in the lower areas on Friday and Saturday.
