But due to this, there will be no relief from the heat. According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions will continue over Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh during the next 5 days. The situation will remain the same in Delhi till May 1, Bihar till April 29, Chhattisgarh during April 28-30, and northern parts of Gujarat on April 28.
Heatwave likely for next five days in Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of a severe heatwave in many states including the capital Delhi for the next five days from Thursday. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. The maximum temperature in some parts of Delhi may even reach 46 degrees Celsius.
Temperature expected to rise in Punjab
The temperature is expected to rise further in Punjab on Thursday. Cloudy skies are likely over Bathinda and adjoining areas, while heatwave conditions will prevail over the rest of Punjab. The maximum temperature is expected to reach the mercury of 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.
Less chance of heatwave in Himachal
In Himachal Pradesh, there will be sunshine in the plains on Thursday, while some places at higher altitudes may receive rain. According to the Meteorological Department, the possibility of a heatwave is less in the state now as cold winds will prevail in most parts, which will give relatively relief from the heat.
Chance of rain in Jammu and Kashmir
