Wrestlers Protest: After the clash at Jantar Mantar, Congress supported the daughters, saying - no need to fear

Delhi Police clashed late on Wednesday night with wrestlers sitting on a dharna over the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. It is being told that police personnel abused and heckled the women wrestlers. After this, a heavy police force reached the spot. The wrestlers have accused the police of assaulting and manhandling them. At the same time, the Congress has also attacked the Delhi Police.

 

 

When Congress MP Deepender Hooda came to know about the incident, he reached Jantar Mantar late at night to meet the wrestlers. There the police took them into custody. After custody, he was kept at the Vasant Vihar police post.

The Congress MP tweeted on Thursday morning informing about his arrest. He said that when I reached Jantar Mantar to inquire about the condition of my daughters, the Delhi Police detained me outside the protest site and brought me to Vasant Vihar police station. One of his videos is also going viral, in which he is constantly seen saying I will go inside alone, let me go.

When the police told them about the implementation of Section 144, Deepender Hooda said that he will meet the players alone and will not take his PSO along with him. Hooda is seen saying that I will go inside only for 5 minutes. During this neither my PSO will be with me nor will there be any security personnel. I will go inside, meet the daughters, inquire about their well-being, and ask them to keep this protest peaceful. Later, the police took them into custody and took them to the Vasant Vihar police station.

The Congress tweeted, tagging the video of Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi Malik crying and her colleague Vinesh Phogat consoling her. Congress wrote that 'these are the daughters of our country, they protected the honor of the country and got us many medals'. He also accused the Home Minister. Said that today Police and Home Minister Amit Shah are misbehaving with the wrestlers.
