The Australian team has achieved its second consecutive victory in the ODI World Cup 2023. With this victory, Australia has four points from four matches and this team has reached fourth place in the points table. At the same time, Pakistan has faced its second consecutive defeat. Australia defeated Pakistan by 62 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

David Warner was on just 10 runs when Usama Mir dropped his very easy catch. Pakistan would not have thought that this catch would cost them so much that they would score 367 runs for nine wickets against them and they would be buried under this mountain of score. Warner's 163 runs in 124 balls birthday boy Mitchell Marsh's innings of 121 runs in 108 balls and later the bowling of Adam Zampa (4/53) led to Pakistan's second consecutive defeat by 62 runs with 27 balls remaining. Wrote it. This was Australia's second consecutive victory. Chasing the target of 368, Pakistan was all out for 305 runs in 45.3 overs.

Imam-Shafiq played a century partnership

Imaal ul Haq (64) and Abdullah Shafiq (70) gave a good start to Pakistan. Both added 94 runs in the first 15 overs. Shafiq completed his 20th half-century in 52 balls and Imam completed his 20th half-century in 54 balls in ODIs. Both of them made a partnership of 134 runs for the first wicket. Here Stoinis dismissed both the openers. Babar (18) was also out early. Mohammad Rizwan (46) and Saud Shakeel (30) added 57 runs, but Rizwan and Iftikhar (26) scored 39 runs in 27 balls, leaving the target at 99 runs in 68 balls. Here Zampa confirmed Australia's victory by sending off both Rizwan and Iftikhar.

David Warner was on just 10 runs when Usama Mir dropped his very easy catch. Pakistan would not have thought that this catch would cost them so much that a huge score of 367 runs for nine wickets would be made against them. Warner's 163 runs in 124 balls and birthday boy Mitchell Marsh's 121 runs in 108 balls devastated the Pakistani attack. In the end, if Shaheen Afridi had not taken five wickets, the Australian innings score would have seemed to cross 400. Warner-Marsh not only made the biggest partnership of 259 runs in 203 balls for their country for the first wicket in the World Cup but also became the first Australian and fourth opening pair overall to score a century from both the openers in the World Cup. This is the second-highest opening partnership in the World Cup. The highest opening partnership was 282 runs by Upul Tharanga-Dilshan against Zimbabwe in 2011.

Warner scored 21st ODI century

Babar Azam won the toss and invited Australia to bat. In an attempt to pull Shaheen's ball, Warner left the ball in the air at mid-on. It was a very easy catch, but Mir, who came into the team in place of Shadab, could not catch it. After this, both the openers scored a flurry of runs. Both of them scored 24 runs in the very first over of Haris Rauf. Warner's six sitting and hitting Rauf over square leg reminded him of his old days. Warner completed his 21st century in ODI and fifth century in the World Cup in 85 balls. Mitchell Marsh especially celebrated his 32nd birthday by scoring his second ODI century on the very next ball.

Marsh became the sixth batsman to score a century on his birthday

Marsh became the sixth batsman in the world to score a century on his birthday in ODIs and the second batsman after New Zealand's Ross Taylor in the World Cup. This was Warner's fourth consecutive century against Pakistan. Earlier, he had played innings of 130, 179, and 107 runs against this country. He is the second batsman after Virat Kohli (vs. West Indies) to score four consecutive centuries against one country. Apart from 10, Abdullah Shafiq gave life to Warner at 105 runs. This partnership of 259 runs from both sides was the best in the World Cup. Earlier, openers Shane Watson-Brad Haddin had added 183 runs against Canada in 2011.

Shaheen prevented him from crossing 400 in the last overs

Shaheen dismissed Marsh on the fifth ball of the 33rd over. Glenn Maxwell, who was sent up the batting order, tried to hit a six as soon as he arrived and was out. Steve Smith (7) could not continue again and Mir dismissed him. After this Warner completed 150 runs in 116 balls. He seemed to be moving towards a double century, but he was out on the ball of Rauf, who gave 47 runs in the first three overs. He was out in 42.2 overs. After this Shaheen's magic started. Only 42 runs were scored in the next 7.4 overs and Australia lost five wickets. Shaheen took five wickets for 54 runs.
