10 Kanwariyas died in West Bengal: Current ran in the pickup from the generator wire, they were going to offer water; 16 scorched

In West Bengal's Cooch Behar, 10 Kanwariyas died, while 16 were badly burnt due to electrocution in a pickup. They have been admitted to Jalpaiguri Hospital for treatment.

 

The accident happened late in the night on Dharla Bridge in the Mekhaliganj police station area. 27 kanwariyas were going to offer water to the Shiva temple of Jalpesh sitting on the pickup. It is being told that the DJ was playing behind the pickup itself. Due to a short circuit in the generator wire, the current reached the pickup.

 

The driver ran away as soon as he got shocked of the current

 

The driver fled as soon as the current came in the pickup. He was not hit by the current. Sitakuchi Police has taken possession of the pickup. The accident was so painful that 10 Kanwariyas died in one stroke. One by one they fell from the pickup. By the time people could understand something, the accident had happened. The condition of the injured kanwariyas is said to be fine.
