1140 people died due to floods in PAK so far: PM Modi expressed grief over the situation, India can send help soon

So far 1140 people have died due to floods and landslides in Pakistan. About 3 crore 30 lakh people have become homeless. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over this natural disaster in the neighboring country. Now there are reports quoting media reports that the Indian government may soon send relief materials to Pakistan on humanitarian grounds. Although no official announcement has been made about this.

 

Modi hopes the situation will improve soon

 

Modi said on social media on Monday – Floods have caused great devastation in Pakistan, I am sad to see the situation. My condolences to the families who have been affected by this. Hope the situation improves soon and normalcy will be restored.

 

Now some media reports are claiming that the Ministry of External Affairs is seriously considering giving help to Pakistan. However, till now nothing has been said by the government in this regard. It is believed that after the Prime Minister's tweet, sending relief material to Pakistan is being considered. An announcement can be made about this soon.

 

Pakistan seeking help from the world

 

Last week, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif called a meeting of foreign diplomats. In this, Sharif appealed to these diplomats for help, giving information about the situation and damage caused by the floods.

 

Pakistan's Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal also met these diplomats on Tuesday. Iqbal claimed that Pakistan has suffered a loss of more than $10 billion due to the floods. 40% of the country's infrastructure has been destroyed.

 

The countries of America and Europe have given some help to Pakistan, although it is not enough to improve the situation. China has only announced so far but has not sent any help.

 

Pakistan will take vegetables and food items from India

 

Pakistan's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said on Monday – all crops in the country have been destroyed and there is a danger of a food crisis in the coming days. We are looking to import vegetables and other food items from India.

 

India sent relief materials to Pakistan after the earthquake in 2005 and the floods in 2010. Since Modi came to power in 2014, relations between the two countries have not been normal. India had removed Articles 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir. After this Pakistan stopped all kinds of trade with India. At present, only essential medicines are imported from India.
