Amritsar Encounter: The accused of the grenade attack on the temple in Amritsar was killed in a police encounter; the constable injured

The prime accused in the recent grenade attack on a temple in Amritsar was killed in a police encounter on Monday morning. The suspect has been identified as Gursidak Singh.

 

Information was received that Gursidak and Vishal, accused of the grenade attack on a temple in Amritsar, were hiding in the Rajasansi area. Police launched a search operation. During this, the accused had an encounter with the police. Accused Gursidak was shot in the encounter.

 

He was taken to the hospital, where he died. While his accomplice Vishal managed to escape. According to police officials, specific intelligence was received about the accused roaming in the Rajasansi area.

 

A team of CIA and Chheharta police personnel was formed to take them into custody. The team saw two people coming on a bike. On this, the police tried to stop the bike, and the bike-riding accused left the bike and opened fire on the police party.

 

According to the police, one bullet hit the head of Constable Gurpreet Singh, one bullet hit the turban of Inspector Amolak Singh and one bullet hit the police vehicle. Inspector Vinod Kumar fired from his pistol in self-defense, injuring the accused Gursidak.

 

The other accused managed to escape from the spot. HC Gurpreet Singh and Gursidak were taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment, where Gursidak died. An FIR is being registered at the police station.

 

A bomb blast took place outside the Sarva Dharm Prarthana Sabha Thakurdwara temple located on Shershah Suri Road in Amritsar at around 1 am on Friday. Police had arrested three accused from Bihar in connection with the attack.
