The Centre asks states to be prepared.

The Health Ministry has directed all states to ensure the availability of oxygen, isolation beds, ventilators, and essential medicines given the rising cases of corona. Sources said on Wednesday that technical review meetings were held on June 2 and 3 under the chairmanship of Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Sunita Sharma.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Disaster Management Cell, Emergency Management Response (EMR) Cell, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) and Central Government Hospitals in Delhi and representatives from all states and union territories.

The meeting was held to assess the current situation and preparedness of Corona. Under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program, state and district surveillance units are closely monitoring influenza-like illness and severe respiratory illness.
