After 27 years, the BJP government has been formed in Delhi. In the swearing-in ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday, Shalimar Bagh Assembly MLA Rekha Gupta took oath as Chief Minister. Along with her, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena also administered oaths to party leaders Pravesh Verma and Ashish Sood as cabinet ministers. Apart from them, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also took oath as a cabinet minister in the Delhi government. Sirsa took oath in Punjabi. BJP MLAs Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh also took oath as cabinet ministers in the Delhi government.
Rekha Gupta came into action mode as soon as she became CM. BJP has started working on its promises from bad roads in Delhi to the health, and cleaning of Yamuna. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude while meeting supporters on Friday and said that the Delhi government approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the first cabinet meeting itself, which was stopped by the Aam Aadmi Party government. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also interacted with the people. This morning, a large number of people gathered outside his residence in Shalimar Bagh to greet him. People came with garlands and bouquets to congratulate him.
Speaking to the media, the new Delhi CM said, "Yesterday in the cabinet meeting, we approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which was stopped by AAP. The scheme will be made public soon. Today we have called PWD and Jal Board officials for a meeting with the cabinet. We will seriously take up the issue of potholes in the roads."
