A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding the award of Bharat Ratna to Ratan Tata had come up before a division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi, also comprising Justice Navin Chawla.
The bench said - to withdraw the petition, one may have to face the consequences
However, the bench dismissed the petition saying that the court did not interfere in the matter. Also, the court asked the petitioner\'s lawyer to withdraw it, failing which they may have to face consequences for it. The bench told the petitioner that if he wants, he can approach the government.
