Voice of Global South Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the inaugural session of the Voice of Global South Summit. During this, he addressed the member countries as brothers. Addressing the summit, PM Modi said that we aim to amplify the voice of the Global South. He said that it is my good fortune, “I am welcoming you to this summit. I thank you that you are participating in this from different places of the world. India has always shared its developmental experience with its brothers from the Global South.

 

'We have put a tough year behind us'

In his address, PM Modi said that we have left behind another difficult year marked by wars, conflicts, terrorism, and geo-political tensions, rising food, fertilizer, and fuel prices. Most global challenges are not created by the Global South, but affect us more. He said that as India begins its G20 presidency this year, it is natural that we aim to amplify the voice of the Global South.

 

'Big role of organizations like the United Nations'

We supported each other in the fight against foreign rule and we can do so again in this century to build a new world order that ensures the welfare of our citizens, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Voice of the Global South Summit. Will do Your voice is India's voice and your priorities are India's priorities. He said that international organizations like United Nations have a big role to play in solving global issues. We must include reforms and progress in these.
